The acquisition of CIG - Europe's fifth largest magazine publisher - from VNU brings 300 titles in Belgium, Britain, the Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, The Netherlands, Romania, Slovakia, and Sweden (market leadership in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary and The Netherlands).
CIG includes 110 general magazines, 106 puzzle and special interest magazines, 15 business yearbooks.
It also includes Aldipress, the largest Dutch commercial magazine sales and distribution organisation (70% of market), and multimedia interests such as the startpagina.nl portal and ilseMediagroep unit.
Books
The group is Finland's leading book publisher in general literature, education and a number of specialist publications. It is also the Nordic area's leading calendar publisher and the market leader in book printing.
Broadcast
Sanoma television interests include free-to-air, cable and three digital TV licences.
Channel Four Finland (Oy Ruutunelonen Ab and Oy Suomen Medianelonen Ab) is Finland's second commercial television channel, and primarily focused on the urban population.
