The Williamsport Sun-Gazette, owned by Ogden Newspapers Inc., is a daily newspaper in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. The Sun-Gazette is currently published seven days a week, although it used to not have a Sunday edition. The Grit newspaper was the Sunday paper for the area, until Grit was purchased and moved to Topeka, Kansas in 1993, later converting to magazine format. Coincidentally, both the Sun-Gazette and Grit are now owned by the Ogden Newspaper Group.
The Sun-Gazette traces its existence through several predecessor newspapers back to 1801, making it one of the oldest businesses in Lycoming County. The Williamsport Sun-Gazette is currently the 4th oldest daily newspaper in Pennsylvania and the 12th oldest in America. It covers news in neighboring counties to some extent as well (especially Clinton County and Sullivan County).
